Black Friday In San Francisco
We were in San Francisco Friday morning, and some of the group were even shopping at the stores that surround Union Square. We thought it was our patriotic duty to ensure Black Friday was a success, and thus help restore confidence in our economic system. But somehow, we missed all the drama.
Actually, this seems in very bad taste given the what was going on in Mumbai, etc.

The SF protests you link to were, like pretty much all street theater, stupid, pointless, and in bad taste.

I was hoping that if we had a good Black Friday, the stock market would hold up today. But it has been a terrible day on Wall Street, despite our efforts to push up sales on Black Friday.
But I would rather see the spending going to infrastructure renewal rather than clothes and trinkets and the latest electronics. And I support those who are planning Christmas as a celebration of Christ's birth rather than a celebration of consumer culture.

I was watching CBS news last night and there was some footage of a man about to be beheaded because he had converted to Christianity. I think it was in Somalia.
Not that these "protesters" would care, but this is what is happening to Christians in Iraq.
Please pray for our brothers and sisters living in nations under terror.
May the Lord give them strength and courage and be by their side in the midst of their adversity.
